About Me

Founder of Wragth Motorsports | Navy Veteran | Former NASA & Waymo

I’m Roy Wragth — a hands-on builder, problem solver, and high-performance junkie with a background that spans the U.S. Navy, NASA, Waymo, and now, the performance automotive world.

Military Foundation

I served on Active Duty as an AD1 Aviation Machinist Mate, completing multiple tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. During that time, I earned the Master Training Specialist (MTS) designation, which pushed me to sharpen not only my technical skills but also my ability to teach, mentor, speak and lead.

NASA & Waymo: Innovation Meets Execution

After the military, I took that mindset to NASA, working as an Engineering Technician V supporting aerospace testing, heat shield development, and mobility systems research. From there, I joined Waymo (Google’s self-driving car division), where I served as a Program Manager and Shift Manager for the Technical Operations team. I led vehicle technicians and validation programs, helping shape the systems behind autonomous vehicles long before they hit the mainstream.

Building Wragth Motorsports

At some point, I realized I couldn’t keep building someone else’s dream — I had to build my own. That’s when Wragth Motorsports was born. Not just as a shop, but as a space where passion meets precision, and where enthusiasts could finally feel understood.

What started with a few tools, a vision, and a ton of grit has grown into a trusted name in the Texas performance scene. We specialize in GM, Ford, and Dodge platforms, and take on the occasional exotic when the project calls for it. From Escalade V builds breaking the 1000 HP mark to chasing down stubborn electrical faults most shops avoid, we’re known for tackling the tough jobs and delivering real results.

But for me, it’s never just been about modifying vehicles. Wragth is about creating something deeper — a community-driven experience that brings clarity, confidence, and a sense of escape. Whether you’re an enthusiast, a high-level executive, or an entrepreneur balancing a million things, we’re building more than horsepower — we’re building therapy on wheels.

The Human Side

When I’m not in the shop or in front of a dyno, I’m usually training at the gym or on the mats doing Jiu Jitsu. I believe in discipline, humility, and the long game — and I bring that same mindset to business, relationships, and personal growth.

What is RoyHQ?

RoyHQ is where I share the real story — the wins, the losses, and everything in between. It’s built on what I’ve learned from my time in the Navy, my work with NASA and Waymo, and the years I’ve spent building Wragth Motorsports from the ground up.

This isn’t a highlight reel. It’s where I break down the stuff most people skip over — like how to build a brand without losing your identity, how to create real customer relationships that last, and how to keep your vision intact when the pressure’s on. I’ve made mistakes, I’ve learned from them, and I’m still learning.

I talk about marketing that feels honest, systems that don’t burn you out, and what it takes to build trust over time — not just close a sale. Whether it’s tuning cars or scaling a business, the goal is the same: do it with purpose and make it count.

RoyHQ is for anyone who’s out here trying to build something real — whether that’s a business, a mindset, or a legacy.

If that sounds like you, you’ll feel at home here.
